That means most of the dock work happening on the lake today isn't building brand-new docks, it's repairing, rebuilding, and upgrading docks that already have a permit. Since July 2020, the Army Corps of Engineers has stopped accepting new private dock permit requests on Beaver Lake, after a boating-capacity study found the lake could safely support only a limited number of additional boats. If your property already has a dock permit, it stays with the property and can generally be repaired or rebuilt in place. See our full permit guide for details.
Most repairs — decking, cleats, floats, hardware, walkway sections — run $500-$3,000. Larger structural work costs more and is quoted after we see it.
Routine repair of an existing permitted dock generally doesn't require a new Corps permit as long as the footprint and location don't change. A full rebuild or any size/location change should be confirmed with the Beaver Lake Project Office first — we help walk homeowners through that.
